Nothing but the Blood

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Don't you just love that old hymn? I love when the Holy Spirit wakes me up with a song on my lips. This morning it was loud and clear!  Isn't it great to know that nothing we do can earn us salvation?  It has already been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus.  Good deeds, money nor any of our self righteous acts rewards us salvation.  Are you not glad that on that day thousands of years ago, He shed his blood for you and for me?

“And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. (Verse 28) so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”            Hebrews 9:22 & 28

  1. I agree. It is wonderful when the Lord puts a hymn of praise on our hearts. Where would we be without His blood? It is so forgiving, so cleansing, so refreshing.... Have a wonderful Spiritual Sunday!
