Vision

"When your memories are bigger than your dreams (vision), you're headed for the grave" Author unknown

God’s word says this: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 KJV

Perhaps it is that true vision comes in knowing the law of God and as a result we will know His will, and then we must keep it. If we walk in the path that God has set for us, keeping his teachings and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us as we follow His Son Jesus, then we truly have vision. His word tells us that doing so will bring happiness or a happy life.

But let me leave us with these questions to ponder… Are you living on yesterday’s manna? Has the memories of what God has done in your life became bigger than the vision of what He still wants to do in and through your life? Maybe you need to read that again.

Has the memories of what God has done in your life became bigger than the vision of what He still wants to do in and through your life?

  1. I used to have that mindset and dwell on past victories and blessings...but the Lord turned me every which way but loose and let me know those seasons past...while good to recall...where given for a reason...to work for Him and move forward in the little time we are given on this earth...I am so excited about what He will do next!

    Great post!

  2. Great post, Linda. While it is good to be reminded of those things God has done for us, we must keep in mind that He's not finished with us.

  13. Good message for everybody but especially seniors like me! I want fresh manna every day so that I don't live in the past and think God only does what He did. He is the Living Water I want to drink each day.

  18. Wow ... these questions are so personally appropriate. This may be the most important post I've read today.
Too often in the last few years, I've fallen prey to discouragement -- reflecting on the past; wondering, "Whatever happened to my passion? ... What's left?"
    Thank you, Linda!

  19. Sometimes its good to go back and remember what the Lord has done, perhaps sharing it with others. But I believe as you do that its more important to keep our eyes fixed on the prize, the goal, what lies ahead in Christ. No need to get hung up on the past or sidetracked by the things of this world. Great post. God bless, Dr. Bobbi

  20. Good food for thought. I'm wondered what my real answer to your repeated question is tonight. Hmm. I hope it's not the past memories. I want vision for the future.

Thanks for the challenge tonight. I need it.
