Don’t you just love it when God’s plan comes together? Ok, let me start from the beginning. Knowing that God has asked me to do certain things, still I find myself easily giving up. A few weeks ago during a sermon I grasped hold of one statement “don’t give up.” Pastor Tim told us about this picture that I have included. He told us to be like the frog with our hands around the neck of the bird. In that we would not give up or go away easily when God has given us sometime to do. Now, I’m not sure what the jobs of these little fellows were but I am sure of what God has asked of me.
Wish I could tell you the sermon was enough to get me moving in the right direction. Perhaps you can relate to being in that position, perhaps not… Ok back to God’s plan coming together. This morning, a very dear friend reminded me again “don’t give up.” “Don’t get frustrated - Just a word of encouragement for you” were her exact words to me. Okay, God I hear you…
How often do we give up on the very thing we know it is right thing to do? How often are we silent when we know prayer is needed? How often is our Bible simply collecting dust when it should have our finger prints all over it? How often do we have an encouraging word for a friend but our tongues (or typing fingers) are silently immoveable?
So in the words of my pastor and another dear friend: don’t get frustrated and don’t give up! I’m not! Satan beware - God’s daughters are coming through!
Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: "For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:35-39

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, the devil says, "Oh no!! She's up..."

ReplyDeleteThank you, I needed to hear this today. We can't give up but there are times when this journed gets really hard, that is when God sends someone to remind us who we are in Him!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
Amen! We will not draw back!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post...I think almost everyone can relate to having feelings of giving up occasionally - I can. If we only knew how close we were to the finish line, we would surely keep running! Thank you for your encouragement.
Isn't it great how God gets our attention by bringing the same phrase across our path until we listen up? I have learned to pay attention when I hear the same thing twice in a short period of time and ask God, "Are you trying to tell me something?"
How many people will He speak to through your post? I think you would be amazed!
Don't give up...

ReplyDeleteLinda -
ReplyDeleteThis is such a terrific post. We all need to be reminded, sometimes from the fear of despair and hopelessness in our world, that we need to press on - not give up.
Thank you for the reminder!
God bless!
This is a very important message. Because we have God's truth and we're in a battle, it is so true that we can't give up. Hard to always stay on track so thanks for this!
